Sara Kieboom-Nijs is on her way to her home in France when she makes a stopover in Afferden on 12 March 2022 to visit the Dutch Golf Museum She wanted to see how the museum displays the golf-related stick and ball games. After all, years ago her husband Geert and she had given the museum a historic ‘crosse à brochon’, a baton and five special ‘choulettes’, egg-shaped balls with an original ‘sac au crochet’, carrying bag for those balls.
Sara is an expert in stick-and-ball games such as jeu de crosse and croquet. Once again, she has a little gift for the golf museum. This time a nice addition to the museum library. It is the 2021 book Choule, The Non-Royal but most Ancient Game of Crosse. An updated version of an earlier release.
We are very happy with it, because due to the limited edition, the book is not available in the bookstore. Just like the other four books about this game, which she and her husband Geert have written. This interesting game, so closely related to golf, has found a nice place in the large new club-and-ball display in the Dutch Golf Museum after its renovation, alongside other games such as kolf, croquet, and mini-golf.
