On September 1, 2022, Wil Borst, treasurer at the Golf for the Disabled Foundation (www.gvoorg.nl) handed over the golf bag of ex-golf professional Christel Boeljon to the Dutch Golf Museum. (www.gvoorg.nl),
Christel donated this bag with contents to GvoorG in 2017 to help people with disabilities get started in golf. However, the quality of the golf clubs turned out to be too specialized for most golfers with a disability and the golf bag with content seemed to end up in oblivion.
The special thing about this golf bag is that Christel Boeljon, one of the best golfers in the Netherlands, played with this golf equipment at the “The 2011 Solheim Cup”. For this event, the best golfers from Europe at that time are invited to compete with their American colleagues. Europe won this edition in an exciting final for the first time since 2003 of Team USA.
Now, 5 years later, the bag with its contents gets the place it deserves: in the Dutch Golf Museum with the appropriate attention for this extraordinary golfer.
