1987/1990 Global Golf Ball Standardization

From 1987 onwards, the American size of the golf balls is also accepted by the R&A and thus the American size becomes the standard.

It stipulates that the golf ball must be at least 42.67 mm (1.680 inches) in diameter and weigh no more than 45.93 grams (1.620 ounces).
