The Ping putter owes its name to the specific “ping” sound that the putter makes when a ball is put. Now I have had a fairly new Ping putter for years, but I did not find the sound (and therefore this statement) very convincing.

Until Piet Rijkers, after a previous visit to the golf museum, was back last week to donate one of the first original Ping putters to the golf museum.

And if you tap a golf ball with this Ping 1A putter from Karsten M.F.G. Corporation, you will immediately hear the sharp unmistakable “ping” sound !!

The Ping putter is exhibited in such a way that every visitor is challenged to experience the sound for himself. And every time you see a smile on the face of recognition: “oh yes, indeed the ping sound”.
