As mentioned before, we regularly receive golf items as a golf museum. These are usually just a few pieces, and the giver knows who originally owned this object.
Particularly remarkable, therefore, was the phone call from a lady from Bielefeld, Germany. She knew almost nothing about the wave objects. Just that there were a lot of them and it would be best to come with a van. Preferably quickly.
After some hesitation, since Bielefeld is not just around the corner, chairman John Ott traveled there with his wife Ineke and they returned with a car full of old golf clubs and bags. Some still with the Sotheby’s auction house label on them. The golf items had belonged to a deceased friend, an avid collector. His inheritance was temporarily stored in their house and they wanted to get rid of the collection.
The first findings are that there are some gems among them. Not only hickory golf clubs, but also tools to make or restore golf clubs. And so next week we will drive to Bielefeld again in a van to pick up the rest. And then clean and polish again. Never a dull moment !
